The Narrator is Nick, in the beginning he realizes that he comes from a wealthy family which makes him want to make a living of his own. He seems like the person that is nice, kind, and easy to talk to.
I think that the author chose to use a first person perspective because it shows a more personal side to the main character and I can kind of put myself in their shoes because I am reading what they are thinking and seeing.
